Proof the republicans just don’t get it. Herman Cain said this morning “Why protest against wall street? These are the bankers who create the jobs. Be mad at the Obama administration instead as they are the ones causing the problem.”
There are many reasons to protest against wall street. The biggest being it was the damn bankers and wall street that caused the depression we are in now.
How many of the people(bankers and wall street) that caused this mess are in jail? How can so many commit so many crimes and yet no one gets charged or goes to jail. How can wall street greed cause such a mess and no one gets prosecuted?
The people of this country are tired of the rich getting away with hurting the country, hurting the middle class and creating a brand new crop of people living in poverty?
I believe the wall street protestors are right, I believe a lot of people on wall street need to go to jail, I believe the rich once again bought their way out of the consequences that should have fallen on them.
First they cause the problem then they repossess, illegally, the homes they sold to the people with their scam. How has everyone involved avoided being charged or going to jail.
If I blame the Obama administration for anything it their failure to hold the people and places that caused this problem accountable for their actions.
If Obama wants his popularity rating to go up he needs to direct the Justice Dept to start prosecuting these people and banks for their wrong doings.
I fully support the protestors on wall street and around the country and I encourage everyone to go to wall street or to the protests in their area. I encourage everyone to keep protesting until people are being held accountable for their actions.
Madoff only stole billions and he’s in jail for 140 years. The greedy bastards on wall street made trillions and yet no one goes to jail. How can this be?
It would seem that the rich run this country and the republicans are defending and protecting them rather than prosecuting them. Of course it’s hard to get campaign donations when all of your big donors are in jail.
Not so many years ago this was the greatest country in the world. We ranked in the top 5 for almost everything. Now we aren’t in the top 20 for much of anything. Not for education, not for health and not for the fewest living in poverty. We have more children die in the first week than 3rd world countries do. Where we do rank high is for the number of people we have in prison or in jail and for the number of people we legally put to death every year.
Yet the republicans go on saying it’s Obama’s fault. I’m not a real fan of revisionist history and no matter how many times they tell their lies we all know who really caused the problem. Lol, if you really want to see some revisionist history take a look at Texas and what that state demands in their school books. That’s another crime that needs to be investigated and punished.
The rich need to pay more taxes and the wall street bastards and the banks need to start going to jail for their crimes. I encourage everyone to go to the demonstrations and help save the country because it’s sure as hell congress isn’t going to do it.
As far as I’m concerned anyone who votes for an incumbent is a damn fool.
Before you decide I don’t know how to capitalize words correctly, rest assured I do, it’s my way of showing how little respect I have for anyone on wall street or congress.
Lol,eric cantor says the protestors are pitting Americans against Americans, characterized them as a mob. Makes you wonder what he thinks America really is and what he’d have thought about the founding fathers fight against the British for our independence.
Wow, republicans think protestors are a mob. Isn’t that wonderful. Of course that’s good for the republicans because it allows them to keep their heads in the sand rather than doing anything to help a mob. What they don’t seem to get is it’s all of America that’s pissed off and not just the people protesting at wall street and around the country.
Just listening to the republicans talk about the protests tell you exactly where they are at and what they want. In my opinion anyone who isn’t for the rich is who the republicans characterize as a mob. Sheesh, I wonder if George Washington realized he was leading a mob against the status quo imposed by the British.
What it comes down to, it seems to me, is that anyone who wants wall street and the big banks punished for their misdeeds is a mob. Anyone who wants the rich to pay more taxes is a mob. Anyone who wants to help the poor is a mob. Anyone against what the rich have done to this country is a mob.
What the republicans don’t seem to understand is that we are a country where supposedly the majority rules. In republicans eyes the majority are a mob and the republicans couldn’t care less about them than they do now. Of course that’s fairly obvious to anyone with a functioning brain and the ability to think. What have the republicans done for anyone who isn’t rich, lately?
Not one damn thing. They’ve been against anything that helps the poor or the middle class and are holding the country hostage so the rich can get richer. In my mind the republicans are hoping for class warfare in this country so they can impose even more laws that harm the poor and the middle class.
For mr cantors edification mobs do lynchings, protestors are trying to right wrongs or address grievances. Just another little example of how republicans try to demonize the common man when he doesn’t want to give any more to the rich or wants the rich punished for their misdeeds. Nice how that gets twisted around so that people doing legal protesting are cast in the same light as lynch mobs. It makes me wonder who’s really trying to start class warfare. He might as well have said “Let them eat cake.”.
