I consistently assume congress has more brains that it actually has. I have to stop that as it’s hazardous to my health. This latest supposed debt deal is hazardous to the countries health.
It raises no revenue at all. Doesn’t even close the loopholes the rich and corporations thrive on. We need to tax the rich.
Since the Bush tax cuts exactly how many jobs have the rich and corporations created? How much of our current recession is attributable to the rich and fat cat corporations? Answer, all of it because the rich banking corps and the fat cats on wall street got greedy.
Why should the escape unscathed? Why have so very few of these thieving bastards been prosecuted? Madoff went to jail for over a hundred years for just a couple of billion, the corps and fat cats got a hundred times that amount, killed the economy and raped the middle and lower class and they get nothing. MOF the damned congress is rewarding them with no tax increase.
It seems crime does pay, particularly if your rich, a big time corp or a member of congress. Guess what, not raising the debt ceiling would cost the rich billions so there is no doubt it’s going to be raised. What with all the congressional people the rich and the big time corps and wall street own there are plenty of votes to pass a bill that won’t hurt the rich as much as default will. 
As I said before, I will not vote for anyone currently in office in the next presidential election. Loyalty to the rich and big time corps isn’t something I’m willing to reward with my vote. You shouldn’t give any of the damn fools your vote either.
First off, they caused this mess with what they did for the rich and wall street. Second, they let the mess become the greatest recession this country has seen and it spread worldwide. I’m surprised the rest of the world isn’t calling for the heads of the wall street and banking bastards that caused this problem. Third, they have done nothing to fix the problem, except blind us to the reality of the situation with politics, and BS.
As I said earlier, there was always going to be a deal because defaulting on our debt would cost the rich more than being taxed a bit. However, it seems they’ve come up with an even better method than taxing the rich and big time corps. Lets cut things we can’t afford to cut in a recession so we can say we got a debt reduction deal, never mind the fact that cutting govt spending during a recession is even a crazier idea that taxing the rich.
Taking money out of the hands of the people, who the govt keeps saying are 70% of the economy, is a job killer and even bigger recession causer than taxing the rich. However, the important thing is the RICH escape both punishment and higher taxes for their greed.
Call or email your congressman or congresswoman and tell the to vote against this travesty of a bill to raise the debt ceiling. All I can say is it’s a great time to be rich and own a country.
Heh, even the stock market thinks the rich need to be taxed. The economy is in the toilet, the only people who can afford to pay are the rich.
The next time the republicans refuse to do something that taxes the rich because it kills jobs, I want them to agree that if the rich don’t create 10 million jobs in the next year after that their tax rate will go back to 90%.
If the republicans are so damn sure taxing the rich does’t create jobs let them put their money where their mouth is.
BTW, how many jobs have the rich created by not being taxed. How many jobs have they created since 2007?
We need to put people back to work, we need our infrastructure fixed. I say, no money for nothing unless it’s guaranteed to create jobs.
The rich part of the economy is doing just fine, it’s the part of the economy that affects the rest of us that sucks. We need job creating programs to get people back to work so they have money to spend. Cutting spending doesn’t help a damn thing except put us closer to a depression and we are damn close now.
I wonder how many of the tea party idiots are going to get elected in 2012. If people are smart, it will be none. If they aren’t smart we will damn sure have a depression if we aren’t in one by then.
